Please review articles #’s 1 thru 6 in this series; Eph. 1:11 “In Whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of The One working all things according to the counsel of His own will” (literal translation).
Choice and responsibility: you and me being chosen before the foundation of the world; being predestinated unto the sonship adoption thru the Beloved Son of God (Eph.1:4&5). Do we have a choice in the matter of God’s choosing and predestination?
I’ve known The Mystery for some thirty years now & the more I live I continue to be astounded not at the many false religions in this world, but at the number of different beliefs supposedly gleaned out of God’s Holy Word; certainly some of these “ideas” without question being fostered by Satan himself; the father of lies (John 8:44).
We have studied thru eleven verses of Eph.1 and again we become confronted with subjects of extreme Scriptural importance… predestination, the foreknowledge of God, the Godly principal of the casting of lots in God’s choosing His inheritance, His heritage. The subjects of predestination & the foreknowledge of God constitute a book of explanation just in themselves. Realizing how we understand these foundational subjects in Scripture is of utmost importance since they explain the very nature of Almighty God Himself, His plan for the ages, how He operates, and how He helps us to understand the state of mankind and the world we live in; sin & redemption.
As to predestination, for example, some people believe that every spiritual being ever created & every human being ever created or born will eventually be saved: Satan, fallen angelic beings, and every human being. Unbelievers who remain in unbelief, murderers, rapists, molesters, those who have defiled the Sanctuary of God, even those who believe that the Son of God was a blasphemous heretic, all will be saved because whatever they do is done because they were predestinated to do so!!! No choice, no responsibility. To this adopted son of God, these ideas are the very definition of utter madness. These people believe that sin is sanctioned by God as well as holiness is. They necessarily serve a different god than the True Living God of the Holy Scriptures.
Consider, I Peter -20 (an Acts-period Book —yes, but we are seeking out the Truth concerning Scriptural predestination): Verse 20 “indeed having been foreknown before the foundation of the world, but revealed in the last times because of you.” (literal translation)
