We are prone to take so very many blessings and acts of grace of our Great God for granted. For instance, it is because of God’s abundant loving grace that we have any life at all, - let alone eternal redemption through the precious blood of Christ and astoundingly part of the Father’s own inheritance in the Heavenly Holy of Holies. From The record of Gen. 3:21 “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” We know that because of the rebellion of Adam and Eve a covering was made for them from animal skins (a type of the loving covering sacrifice for sin by The Christ). Through God’s grace the whole of the human race was allowed to come into existence by this act. Gen. Chapters: 6 - 9 is The Record of Noah, the possible total satanic contamination of mankind except for eight living souls, and the vexation of The Almighty that He ever created man.
Gen. 6:6 & 7 “And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created . . .” The Hebrew word for “repented” here is “nacham” which means “to take a breath in strongly because of feeling deep sorrow about a personal action and to resolve not to continue.” Importantly also is the fact that a figure of speech called Anthropopatheia is used by The Holy Spirit here which allows for human feeling to explain an aspect of God’s character in order that we may know Him! God was pained, vexed, and thoroughly disappointed.
Since God loved man so and since the covering blood of The Christ, the second Adam, was in view “… Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” (Genesis 6:8)
Noah’s was the only bloodline that was not contaminated by satanic corruption. Mankind was so very close to being totally destroyed in the year 2348-7BC. Eight people were “baptized” by the intense deluge, Noah, his three sons, and their four wives. If we had the correct, accurate records today, we could all trace our human lineages back to one of these three sons of Noah some 21,500 generations ago.
With dearest love unspeakable, Almighty God sends Himself to pay our penalty, ransoming us out of the slave market of sin and once and forever silencing “the accuser” . . . “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”(John 15:13), and further, “For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;” (read I Pet. 1:18-20). – to be continued…
