En Tois Epouranios #12
/By Michael S. Mecikalski
Greetings, faithful saints; please keep in mind that we will be coming in contact with many subjects in Scripture as we humbly walk circumspectly thru this exceedingly astounding blessed truth.
Note: In line #25 of paragraph #3 of article #11, the reference should have read John 6:31-51…taking up where we left off in our last article;
Rev. 21:1 & 2, And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: forthe first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was nomore sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,coming down from heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Folks, consider the fact that as members of the church which is Christ’s body, we are not the bride, but we are the fullness of the husband (Eph. 1:17-23). John sees the present heaven and earth “pass away”. How does this happen? The answer is found in II Peter 3:10–13; vs. 10 states: “But the day ofthe Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavensshall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with ferventheat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (Interestingly, the phrase “The day of the Lord willcome as a thief in the night,” spoken thru Peter here, is the same phrase used by the Holy Spirit thru Paul in I Thess. 5:2, speaking of the 2nd advent of Christ which has occurred at least a 1,000 years earlier; the same Greek words). All of the elements as we know them (in the earth’s fallen state at present) will be burned up (melt) in the judgment of the fervent heat (I’m sure as great or greater than nuclear fire and heat). This fire possibly could be associated with the “lake of fire”. This is a bit ahead of ourselves, but we will notice that the “elements” of the new earth will be unlike those that we have ever known….“…the street of the city was pure gold, asit were transparent glass.” (Rev. 21:21); “…a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal…” (Rev. 22:1). (Actually this river may look brilliantly white like the manifestation of angels spoken of in Scripture, radiant…more on this.) There is evidence which points to creation being “recreated” to be as it was before the fall of Lucifer, (Isa. 14:12–19 and Ezk. 28:11-19; notice the precious stones of covering in vs. 13), and subsequently the corruption of the entire universe. In Gen. 1:1 &, 2, the earth became wild and waste; without form and void. A great statement is made in Rev. 21:3 …“Behold, the tabernacle of God is withmen, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himselfshall be with them, and be their God.” Restored mankind will finally be in communion with God as was always meant to be…
