By just leaving one letter out, Christian becomes Christ in. Think on this. Is it true? Paul told the Galatians that he had been especially chosen from birth to reveal God's Son in himself. Is Paul the only one in whom God would reveal His Son? Could this not also apply to all who are His?

Both these terms are generally misunderstood because of traditions of men. And these sayings of men are more or less founded on the lie of Gen. 3:4, "Ye shall not surely die." And from this came the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. So then resurrection is not really needed, and salvation has come to mean avoiding the punishments and tortures in hell for sins.

The great commission of the kingdom age (Matt 28:19) included baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). The word name is in the singular, not plural. So Father is not a name. Son is not a name. Holy Spirit is not a name. But there is a name that includes all three. Do you know that name? It is the name that is given to Jesus (Ph'p. 2:8-11). It is first mentioned in Psalms 7:17. It is Jehovah Elyon (Jehovah, the most high God). That is the name of the one individual which consists of three persons.

Up to the great divorce of Acts 28:25-28, both spiritual and material blessings had to do with the earth, the land that was promised to Abraham and to his descendants. Even the New Jerusalem comes down to the earth to be inhabited by a chosen people. Among those will be Abraham and those who are children of the promise made to Abraham.

On one occasion the Lord taught His followers a lesson using children as an object lesson. A dispute had arose between His disciples as to who would be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you,except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. "For Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell: neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption."
This is a difficult verse for the orthodox. Seeing that they have the wrong notion of hell, they are at a loss as to how to explain this. But they usually manage to explain it away, as they do so many passages which do not agree with their creeds. Hell here is simply the grave, or you might say, the dust of the earth. And the first part of the statement would well apply to David, the speaker. But it is the last part that causes the difficulty. For David has seen corruption and was still in the grave or hell as late as A.D. 29, for Peter in Ac 2:27,31 quotes this very passage to prove that it is the Lord, not David, who has been raised.

"Zealous of good works" (2: 14). A mark of a peculiar people. "Rebuke with all authority" (2:15). I hate to rebuke anybody. I haven't done very much of that. I don't like to be rebuked, do you? But when Titus is over bishops, deacons and so on, there's going to have to be a little of that to put folks in line. We're not exercising authority today, really. I'm not in the business of rebuking folks. I seldom do and if I do, I try to be positive rather than finding fault and maybe suggest there's a better way. I want to be helpful. I don't want to put anyone down. I want everyone who names the name of Christ to have a witness of some kind. And we can't be in the business of putting folks down and spoil their witness, what little they have might grow! I've known a lot of people who started out very weak sometimes we call it "on the wrong foot" and they turned out just fine! I'm so glad that I was friendly, and that I did try to help a little and didn't oppose.

I think that we are too much inclined to say something about the examples of the Lord in many things. And the reason for that is that in many modem churches about all they teach is the Man Jesus, and His examples. Possibly you've heard of a book written years ago In His Steps - modernism!

Luke 3:21-22. "...Jesus also being baptized,and praying..." A lot of people go over these verses and never notice that He was praying there when baptized.
Mark 1:35. "...rising up a great while before dawn...prayed." Notice that! And read verse 34. He would never allow demons or the devil to bear testimony of Him. Now compare Ph'p. 2:10. These that bow the knee will do it willingly, and the devil and demons will not be among them.
